New charging stations for employees

Cologne/Cochem | 23.11.2022 | The employees of tax consultancy Küpper, Schaub und Partner mbB in Cochem are happy about two new charging stations. They now have the opportunity to charge their electric vehicles with electricity during working hours.

When it comes to providing charging points for employee and fleet vehicles, tax consultants are often asked for advice. Can the electricity be passed on to employees free of charge or what needs to be taken into account when billing for the electricity are typical questions that are asked. For more than 60 years, the tax consultants and auditors of the law firm Küpper, Schaub und Partner with their 60 employees have enjoyed the trust of their clients in all tax matters. With the tax knowledge and the first inquiries about it, the step towards the own charging park was obvious.

Wallboxes allow employees to charge their e-vehicles

The tax and accounting firm Küpper, Schaub & Partner enables its employees to charge their e-vehicles at work.

Employee needs were the trigger

The trend toward electric vehicles is on the rise: In July 2022 alone, 13.2 percent more new cars with electric drives were registered in Germany than in the same period in 2021. More and more employees now have an electric vehicle. Thus, the topic also became more present at the Cochem tax consultants. Finally, the management decided in favor of the wallboxes from the Cologne-based charging station manufacturer Kinetos®.

Flood hazard to be considered

Special framework conditions had to be taken into account. “Due to the annual risk of flooding, it was important that the wallboxes could be quickly dismantled at any time and that the installation could not be damaged by water,” says Peter Olbermann, partner at the firm: “Kinetos offered us a simple as well as convincing solution here with its very robust wallboxes.” In the event of a flood, the wallboxes can be dismantled in just a few minutes.

With up to 11 kW charging power, the batteries of the electric vehicles can be refilled. Employees can access the Power Rock wallboxes via charging cards and an app. This prevents unauthorized electricity from being “tapped” at the charging points. “We are very pleased that we are now also represented in Cochem with our wallboxes,” says the managing director of the Kinetos® Group, Prof. Dr. Dragan Vučetić: “especially since we have also been active in the association Unser Klima Cochem-Zell e.V. for some time.”
